Considering the fact that the Lavender Pit copper mine is 300 acres and nearly 1,000 feet deep, one realizes that this visible turquoise deposit would still make an awful lot of turquoise jewelry. The fact that it’s not being harvested makes me speculate that the quantity and quality of this turquoise deposit doesn’t justify the expense of mining it.
